Overview
Email attachment sharing protection is a solution to lock down to a SharePoint Portal Server the sensitive files that can be sent by email server. We implemented the solution for Microsoft Exchange server and also for hMailServer. Based on group assignation, the users were entitled to receive attachments only from certain sources, and to send out attachments to certain sources. For designated groups the files were un-attached from the original email and placed on a protected web server.
